A year as teaching assistant in retrospective

Ich wurde in der Schule gefragt, etwas für die Schulzeitschrift zu schreiben. ich dachte mir, ich kann das ja auch mal hier hochstellen 🙂

September 2011:  Arrival at King Edward’s School, getting to know the English culture.

October 2011:  Learning about the laws of rugby. My favourite place from now on is the Rec.

November 2011:  I thought it always rains in England. My friends wonder where I take all the ‘sunshiny’ pictures of great landscape and architecture. Yes, that is Bath!

December 2011:  Christmas in England. Delicious Christmas pudding, mince pies, and a bit of German Christmas market.

January – February 2012:  Just returned to England and my students constantly ask, if Germans have got any humour. They also mentioned the word ‘sarcasm’.  I might have to look that up.

March 2012:  The exams are coming closer, no time for humour anyway, just hard work with ambitious students.

April 2012:  Just came back from the German Exchange, which was great and as the students realised: “Miss, Germans can actually be quite funny!”

Time flies! Just two more months and I am already sad that I will have to leave. It has been a great experience so far.
